Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav has been barred from any serious offence, while Haris Rauf, the Pakistani player, faced a two-match ban. A former Pakistan player has claimed that the Indian captain should be handed a 30-match ban for his conduct in the Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup 2025 marked several controversial moves from both the Indian and Pakistani players. Among the players from both teams, Haris Rauf from Pakistan and Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav were under fire for having made a controversial decision.

Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian captain, from the press conference, mocked that the India vs Pakistan games are no longer a rivalry between the two nations, since it has been a one-sided saga in recent times.

'Suryakumar Yadav should be banned for 30 matches,' claimed a Former Pakistan cricketer

Suryakumar Yadav made a controversial comment regarding the attacks on the Pahalgam valley, which led to political fury, and the Indian skipper was fined 30% of his match fees by the ICC for having uttered those words.

After Haris Rauf was recently found to have committed such an offence twice within 24 months, first on the 14th and then on the 28th of October, he was handed two suspension points. Due to this, he faced a two-match ban in the ongoing ODI series against South Africa.

Despite the move being a proper snub as per ICC norms, a former cricketer, Tanveer Ahmed, claimed that if he were the chairman of the body, then he would have imposed a 30-match ban on Suryakumar Yadav for his claims and would have restricted him from playing any game.

Pakistani cricketer accuses Jay Shah of politics and bias within the ICC

The former Pakistan cricketer, who appeared in fewer than 10 matches for the national side, holds a unique record of a 5-wicket haul on debut. He, in a recent interview on a Pakistani channel, has imposed vile accusations on the current ICC Chairman Jay Shah.

Jay Shah was the former secretary of the BCCI before taking up the role in the ICC. He has further claimed, "Had it been one of our players (a Pakistani player), he would have imposed a ban of not less than 25-30 days," claimed the former player.

He further added, "Ever since Jay Shah and the Indian men have entered the ICC, they have brought political bias within the ICC. They have made a mockery of the International Cricket Council."

BCCI to escalate Asia Cup Trophy row in ICC meeting on Friday

The BCCI had warned the ACC Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, to escalate the Asia Cup trophy row in the ICC meeting during the recent Annual General Meeting of the International body. The first two days have passed, and the BCCI is yet to make a move.

BCCI is likely to escalate things and raise the matter on the 7th of November, on Friday. The trophy, which has been held captive at the ACC headquarters in Dubai, while the final decision is to be taken in the ICC board meeting.
