The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.14 was between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, New Delhi. GT beat DC by 1 run. DC won the toss and opted to bowl first. Shubman Gill came in for the side after missing out on the last game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

GT openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill started well in the DC vs GT match. However, the former was dismissed on the score of 12 runs by Mukesh Kumar. After the wicket, GT had no plans to slow down as Jos Buttler took charge and smacked the DC bowlers all over the park. After the powerplay GT’s score was 68/1.

IPL 2026: DC vs GT Match Result

The former England captain scored fifty off just 24 balls, and they built a fifty partnership with Gill being a mere watcher at the non-striker's end. Though Buttler was dismissed on the score of 52 off 27 balls by Kuldeep Yadav. Then Gill and Washington Sundar charged against the DC bowlers as the GT captain scored the fifty in 50 off 33 balls.

Gill was dismissed after playing a superb innings of 70 off 45 balls by Lungi Ngidi. The two batters stitched a partnership of 105 runs for the third wicket and put the Titans in the driver’s seat. Sundar was also firing down and scored a half-century off 30 balls.

The Southpaw was dismissed with the score off 55 runs as GT could score 210/4 runs in their 20 overs. They will feel they were 20 runs short, as when Gill and Sundar were batting, 230 runs seemed possible in the DC vs GT match.

Coming out to chase, DC openers, KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka, started decently, scoring at a good pace. Nissanka was the aggressor as he smashed 23 runs of the final over of the powerplay against Ashok Sharma. However, he was dismissed after scoring 41 off 24 deliveries. The former scored a fifty in 29 deliveries.

However, two back-to-back wickets by Rashid Khan, dismissing Nitish Rana and Sameer Rizvi, as the latter was dismissed for a duck on the first ball. DC were 113/3 at one stage. Then it was a flurry of wickets as David Miller also went back, retired hurt, with the Proteas batter having injured his finger while playing a shot.

Later on, Axar Patel went back as Rashid Khan picked up his third wicket in the game. Tristan Stubbs was back for the score of 7 runs after a brilliant run out by Sai Sudharsan. Rahul was there at the other end as the wicket-keeper batter scored a brilliant 92 runs off 52 balls as DC were in trouble for 166/6.

The DC vs GT match went down to the wire as Miller came back after his finger injury and walked out to bat yet again. With 13 needed in the last over, Miller will be furious with himself as he failed to get DC over the line, as DC lost by one run. The fan enjoyed every bit of the DC vs GT match.
