Mitchell Marsh, on Thursday (May 22), took Rashid Khan to the cleaners, hitting the spinner for 25 runs during the game between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Australia allrounder decided to go all out against the Afghan star in the 12th over of LSG's innings. Mitchell Marsh was well set and was batting on 59 runs off 40 balls when Rashid came to bowl his first over of the match.

The LSG opener did not let Rashid settle down as he attacked him right from the word go and hit as many as 5 boundaries in the over. On the very first ball bowled by the leg-spinner, Mitchell Marsh hit a six over the cow corner.

On the following delivery, the right-handed batsman hit a four through the covers before hitting the third ball for a six-over long-off. On the fourth and fifth balls, Marsh hit two more fours before taking a single on the last ball of the over.

Talking about the game, LSG were on 176/1 in the 16th over at the time of writing this report. Mitchell Marsh was batting on 94 off just 53 balls while his partner Nicholas Pooran was unbeaten on 39 off 18 balls.
Gujarat Titans will be eyeing a win in the ongoing match to bolster their chances of finishing in the top two. The Shubman Gill-led side is currently at the top of the table with 18 points from 12 games.
Finishing in the top two would give Gujarat Titans two shots at the final. On the other hand, if they fail to finish in the top two, they will have to win two games to qualify for the final.
LSG fighting hard vs GT
While LSG have already been knocked out of the tournament, they can deal a big blow to Gujarat Titans' hopes of finishing in the top two. With their fate already decided, LSG will be eager to inflict a defeat on Gujarat Titans to spoil their party.
The Rishabh Pant-led side will also be keen to bow out of the competition on a good note after the dismal performances in the second half of the season.
