Dhanashree Verma’s family has dismissed rumors suggesting she demanded ₹60 crore in alimony from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal following their divorce. In a statement issued to the press, the family clarified that no such demand was made, rejecting all speculations surrounding the matter.
Speculation about Yuzvendra Chahal’s personal life intensified after he and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Yuzvendra Chahal also removed or archived all posts featuring her. The couple, who met during the COVID-19 lockdown, got married in December 2020.
Dhanashree Verma's Family Rejects Rs 60 Crore Alimony Claim
In the past few days, there have been a lot of rumors suggesting that Dhanashree Verma demanded ₹60 crore as alimony from Yuzvendra Chahal after their divorce. However, a member of her family has strongly denied these claims, calling them baseless and urging people not to spread misinformation.
In a statement released on Friday, the family dismissed the reports and expressed disappointment over the false claims, adding that Dhanashree never made any such demand.
"We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumors whatsoever," the statement said.
"It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this only causes harm, and we urge the media to exercise restraint and fact-check before spreading misinformation and also be respectful towards everyone's privacy," the statement added.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma Spotted at Bandra Family Court
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were seen at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai on Thursday, where the judge advised them to attend a counseling session. The couple confirmed that they were seeking a divorce by mutual consent and had been living separately for the past 18 months.
Dhanashree’s lawyers refuted claims that the divorce was already finalized, stating that no official decision had been made. Her lawyer, Aditi Mohan, urged the media to fact-check before reporting, adding that misleading information was being widely circulated.
"I have no comments to make on the proceedings, the matter is currently sub-judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated," Dhanashree's lawyer Aditi Mohan said in a statement released to the press on Friday afternoon.

Following the court proceedings, Dhanashree Verma shared a message on her Instagram stories. She spoke about shifting from “stressed to blessed,” emphasizing how trust in God can turn challenges into blessings.
"From stressed to blessed. Isn't it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings?."
