Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra fears Covid-19 takes a big toll in the Test series in England with the soft bio bubble in place amid Krunal Pandya testing positive in a strict bio bubble. Krunal Pandya tested positive ahead of the second T20 international against Sri Lanka and it resulted in the game getting postponed to the 28th of July.

It has also put eight players in jeopardy of being in close contact with Krunal Pandya and they could miss out on the rest of the T20 series. This is a big surprise as the Covid-19 protocols have been so strict in Sri Lanka, and there isn’t any crowd for the game too.

Aakash Chopra Surprised To See England’s Soft Bubble

Aakash Chopra mentioned that a strict bio bubble couldn’t prevent Krunal Pandya from testing positive for Covid-19 and he is bewildered with England not having reacted to the positive cases going on in the nation. In fact, the England board has allowed crowds for the Men’s hundred tournaments and the cases have been moving upper in the ladder.

“Krunal Pandya tested positive despite being in a strict bio-bubble. That makes me think what is happening in England. Crowds are attending The Hundred and interacting with each other. Even amid COVID positive cases in the country, the festival is carrying on.” Aakash Chopra reckoned on his Youtube Channel

Aakash Chopra Fears The Future Of Upcoming India- England test series

Aakash Chopra reckoned that the crowd coming in for the India-England series is going to increase the possibilities of players testing positive and the soft bubble worsens the situation too. Recently, Rishabh Pant had tested positive for Covid-19 and had to undergo 10 days of isolation missing the practice game, and it could be the same case again when the series starts.

“Crowds are likely to attend the India-England Test matches as well and it is being said that there won’t be a strict bio-bubble but only a soft one. I do understand that COVID has taken a toll on everyone. But if COVID can breach a strict bio-bubble, I don’t even want to think what can happen in a soft bubble.” He added

India has taken 24 players into the UK as a situation could arise when most of the players in the regular team get isolated and a new bunch of players would get the chance.
