Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been unstoppable since his return to the Indian T20 side in the Asia Cup. He has been the highest wicket-taker in the tournament and was picked as the Player of the Match on two occasions before finally getting his hands on the Impact Player medal.

The India vs Bangladesh game at the Dubai International Stadium ended in favour of the Men in Blue, as they qualified for the finals of the tournament. They have booked a final spot and are the first team to have reached the final game of the tournament.

Kuldeep Yadav was not picked in the Indian T20I side for over a year since the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Kuldeep was part of the Indian World Cup-winning side, but this is the first time he was picked in the Indian XI under Gautam Gambhir's reign.

Kuldeep Yadav wins Impact Player Medal after match-winning spell

Kuldeep Yadav returned to the Indian side for the Asia Cup tournament, as this would mark the preparatory stage for the Indian team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026.

Ever since his return, Kuldeep Yadav has been picked as the player of the match in the first two games of the series for India. He picked up a stunning 4-wicket and 3-wicket haul in the first two games against the UAE and Pakistan. However, he missed the impact player medal on these occasions.

Against Bangladesh, after the Indian team posted a decent 169-run target, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav contributed significantly with the bat as he picked 3 wickets in the middle order. His efforts led to the collapse of the Bangladesh middle-order. He has hence been awarded the Impact player medal in the Indian dressing room.

Abhishek Sharma gets back-to-back Player of the Match awards in Asia Cup Super-4 games

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has shown some breathtaking form in the shortest format of the game. The rising talent from India has not only scored a large amount of runs but also managed to maintain a fearless attitude.

Abhishek is the highest run-getter in the format, as he has scored 248 runs in the 5 games in the tournament. With an average of nearly 50, he relished batting in the Asia Cup with a strike rate of nearly 200.

With 70+ scores in the two back-to-back Super-4 games against Pakistan and Bangladesh, the Indian opener has been the architect of the successful Indian innings. He has been awarded the Player of the Match award on both these occasions.

India - the first team to reach the Asia Cup Final

The Men in Blue are currently the World Champions in the shortest format of the game, and hence they have been considered favourites in the continental championship. India has till now maintained a winning streak of 5 games in the tournament and is all the way through to the finals.

Suryakumar Yadav, the new Indian skipper, is leading India for the first time in a multi-nation series, and this would be a truly inspiring moment for him if he can lead India to their 9th Asia Cup title.
