AFG vs IRE Live Streaming In India– When and Where To Watch Afghanistan vs Ireland Only Test In India? 2024

The AFG vs IRE only Test will be played at the Tolerance Oval, Abu Dhabi from February 28. The two teams are back again to playing Test cricket first. The AFG vs IRE series comprises one Test match followed by three ODIs and three T20Is. 

The series will start on February 28 with the only Test and conclude with the third ODI match on March 18. After the one-off Test match in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah will host the ODI and T20I matches. 

Afghanistan recently played their last Test match against Sri Lanka which was a very one-sided affair. Sri Lanka won the match by 10 wickets in the end as Afghanistan could not score too many runs with the bat.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been added to the Afghanistan Test squad. He has made a name for himself in white-ball cricket and especially T20I cricket. This is his first exposure to Test cricket. Afghanistan who lost their previous Test against Sri Lanka are set to play five more Test matches this year after the one against Ireland. 

Ireland will be led by Andrew Balbirnie who is their Test captain. Paul Stirling is their white-ball skipper. Ireland have a few newcomers to their Test side. However, the core of the side remains with Balbirnie, Harry Tector, Paul Stirling, George Dockrell, Andy McBrine, Lorcan Tucker, Curtis Campher, Mark Adair and Craig Young. These are the players who play across formats for the national team.

In 2023, Ireland played Test matches against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and England losing all three of them. While it was a one-off Test against Bangladesh and England, Sri Lanka beat them 2-0. They are yet to rise to the ranks in Test cricket. Heading into this series, they are placed Afghanistan are placed 11th in the ICC Test rankings and Ireland 12th. 

AFG vs IRE Broadcasting Rights in India

The series will be broadcast on the Eurosport channel in India. Eurosport India, from the house of Warner Bros. Discovery and the go-to destination for passionate sports fans in India, has recently announced the acquisition of broadcast rights for the Afghanistan Cricket Board in collaboration with Firebird Universe, until 2027.
