AFG vs PAK: Babar Azam And Mohammad Rizwan Among Cricketers From Pakistan Against Promoting Controversial Products - Reports

Pakistan captain Babar Azam and ace keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan along with some other players from the team have decided against promoting controversial products during the various T20 leagues as per the reports in Cricket Pakistan. The players have demanded a clause in their contracts with various franchises across the globe.

Pakistan players have clearly stated that they will not endorse or promote products related to tobacco, alcohol, surrogate batting products, pork items, and adult entertainment. They have decided it keeping in mind their religion, culture, and personal values.

The cricketers from Pakistan have decided against using their images for the promotion of these events and it is learned that they also not be receiving any financial compensation from them. However, this won’t stop them from earning as they will be getting their remuneration from alternative sponsorships, team support, or agreements made by the league owners.

It is also learned that few Pakistan players have brought to the notice such terms and conditions to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and want similar things in their central contract as well. The governing body has roped in various betting companies as their sponsors but they won’t be renewing their contracts after they expire.

Notably Captain Babar Azam also didn’t put up the logo of a surrogate betting company on his Colombo Strikers jersey during the recent Lanka Premier League (LPL) season. The franchise however respected his decision and upheld his wish.
