Bangladesh will be up against Afghanistan in the ninth match of the Asia Cup 2025. This article provides details about Afghanistan's Playing 11 vs Bangladesh for the ninth match of the tournament.

Afghanistan Playing 11 vs Bangladesh- Asia Cup 2025, Match 9:

Openers: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Sediqullah Atal

Afghanistan would like to build on the winning start they have had to the Asia Cup 2025 and get the better of Bangladesh in the upcoming match to be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The Rashid Khan-led side defeated Hong Kong in the first match of the tournament and would be confident of replicating the same performance against Bangladesh.

The Afghans would like to create pressure on their opponent, who are coming into the match on the back of a disappointing defeat against Sri Lanka.

Afghanistan looks like a well-rounded unit and has all its bases covered, be it in batting or bowling.

The only area of concern for the team before the match would be the form of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who has struggled to get going in the last few matches, and would hope to get things right against Bangladesh.

Gurabaz's opening partner, Sediqullah Atal, on the other hand, has been in tremendous form since he started to open the batting and would want to carry that form in the next match.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Ibrahim Zadran, Gulbadin Naib, Azmatullah Omarzai, Karim Janat, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan (c)

The openers would wish for the middle order batters to capitalize on the platform laid by them and help the team get to an above-par total while batting first.

If the things are the other way around, i.e., the Afghans bat second, then the team management would bank on the experience of Ibrahim Zadran, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Mohammad Nabi to take the team over the line.

Afghanistan is expected to stick to the same playing XI that got them off to a winning start in the eight-team tournament.

One of the biggest advantages that the Afghans have over Bangladesh is that the team has a good blend of youth and experience, and would like to put that to good use.

Along with the experience, the Afghans also bat deep with their captain, Rashid Khan, slotted to bat at number eight, which makes them a force to reckon with.

Bowlers: Noor Ahmad, AM Ghazanfar, Fazalhaq Farooqi

As far as Afghanistan's bowling department is concerned, spin is expected to play a major role for them in the match, as has been the case in most of the matches that the team has featured in.

In such a scenario, the trio of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Noor Ahmad would like to put their hand up and give their best with the ball.

Like it did in the first match, the Afghans might go with one specialist fast bowler against Bangladesh as well, in the form of Fazalhaq Farooqi, with Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib, and Karim Janat chipping in when required.

The Afghans will have eight bowling options, including three specialist bowlers and five all-rounders.
