The South African head coach, Shukri Conrad, came to the limelight for his audacious 'grovel' remark on India ahead of the second innings of the Second Test in Guwahati. He has now once again had the spotlight with a hilarious take ahead of the Dharamsala T20I.

Shukri Conrad had remarked he wanted the Indian batters to 'grovel' after they had piled on a massive target to chase in the final innings of the Guwahati Test. India struggled to chase the mammoth target and lost by a massive 400+ run margin.

The South African coach Shukri Conrad then went on to receive heavy criticism for his remarks, and he apologized in public for the move. South Africa, after the Test series, lost the ODI series and has now levelled the T20I series as well.

Shukri Conrad drops a hilarious remark ahead of the Dharamsala match

The India vs South Africa T20I series started on the 9th of December in Cuttack. The teams then moved from the extreme east to the North of India and played the second game in the new PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh under completely variant climatic conditions.

The third match is scheduled to be played in Dharamsala, known as one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world. Located amid the mountains, the South African players are having a gala time in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Shukri Conrad has hilariously claimed that he had to cancel a team meeting because some of the Proteas players had been hiking in the mountains.

"I've had to cancel a meeting because some of our guys are on a hike in the mountains somewhere," said Shukri Conrad before the third T20I at Dharamsala.

India or South Africa - Who will take the lead in Dharamsala?

India and South Africa had levelled the series, as the defending champions of the WTC won a Test series after a span of two decades in the Indian subcontinent, and on the other hand, the Men in Blue won the ODI leg of the series with a 2-1 margin.

Coming into the most dominating format for the Men in Blue, the T20 World Cup champions won the first match in Cuttack by a staggering margin. They defeated the Proteas by a huge 101-run margin before advancing to New Chandigarh.

The new stadium, being one of the greatest tracks for batting in the sub-continent, marked the Proteas veteran Quinton de Kock rolling back his years and leading South Africa to a massive target with 90 runs off his bat.

With the series levelled at 1-1, either of the two teams could win the Dharamsala match and take the lead in the 5-match series. The Dharamsala track is one of the highest-scoring pitches, and toss would play a major role at this venue.

Will India drop Shubman Gill for the Third T20I against South Africa?

India have struggled with the poor form of vice-captain Shubman Gill. He replaced Sanju Samson in the playing XI, but has failed to create a significant impact, scoring runs at an average of 20.

India will finally have to move on from the failed vice-captain, since both Gill and skipper Suryakumar Yadav's poor form has concerned the Indian fans and hampered their hopes to defend their title in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Sanju Samson, who has been benched for the last 5 games straight, might finally be called in for the third T20I and tested at the top of the batting order.
