Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma has finally broken his silence on the rumours of a rift between him and Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Reportedly, Rohit and Virat have had a lot of rift between them ever since the conclusion of the ICC Cricket World Cup back in 2019. The two legends of team India had not been on talking terms since India’s exit from the world cup.

The rumours of rift took another height as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli met each other in the IPL this year. Rohit and Virat didn’t even look at each other when Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) met for the first time in IPL 2020. All this fuelled up the debate as to whether or not the Indian pillars are on speaking terms.

The rumours of a rift between Rohit and Virat resurfaced when the Indian captain stated lack of clarity on Rohit’s availability. Rohit sustained an injury in IPL 2020. The BCCI didn’t name him in any of the formats for the Australian tour. Rohit was supposed to join the Indian team for the Australian tour from UAE but he didn’t fly with the side.

Now, Rohit Sharma will join the Indian team on Wednesday after completing his quarantine in Australia. The Indian Cricket Team beat Australia by 8 wickets in the second Test. Rohit will be available for selection for the third Test
