Team India skipper Rohit Sharma gave a hilarious response to a reporter's question during the press conference after the third Test match against Australia in the BGT 2024-25. Rohit Sharma shared that there will be no more surprises from the Indian team during the ongoing five-match Test series in Australia.

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin stunned the cricket world with his retirement announcement from international cricket on Wednesday, December 18. Ashwin retired mid-series after the third match ended in a draw. He was included in the XI for the second Test but dropped from the next game.

Ravichandran Ashwin Included in Pink Ball Test Match in Adelaide

Ravichandran Ashwin played the second Test of the series in Adelaide. He took one wicket and scored 22 and 7 runs in his two innings. Ashwin was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja for the third Test, while Washington Sundar played in the series opener in Perth. He is India’s second-highest wicket-taker in Tests.

Ashwin took 537 wickets in 106 Test matches. The 38-year-old spinner is only behind legendary cricketer Anil Kumble, who secured 619 wickets. Overall, Ashwin has 765 wickets in 287 matches in international cricket. He was often excluded from playing in SENA countries due to pace-friendly conditions.

No, Abhi Toh Filhaal Ke Liye Kuch Nahi Hai - Rohit Sharma

After Ashwin's retirement, a journalist asked Indian skipper Rohit Sharma about any more surprises during the tour. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Rohit responded humorously, saying, "No, abhi toh filhaal ke liye kuch nahi hai" (No, for now, there's nothing).

India's senior players, including Rohit and Virat Kohli, are possibly playing their final Test series in Australia. There were speculations about Rohit retiring mid-series, but the Indian skipper gave clarity with his response.

Rohit Sharma Under Scrutiny for His Form and Captaincy

Rohit Sharma is under scrutiny for his form and captaincy in Australia. He registered single-digit scores in Adelaide and a lackluster 10 in Brisbane. His leadership has also been questioned, particularly after defensive tactics during the home series loss to New Zealand and the 10-wicket defeat in Adelaide.

The rain-affected third Test in Brisbane ended Rohit Sharma's losing streak. Jasprit Bumrah, who led India to victory in the Perth Test during Rohit’s absence, has garnered support from fans and experts to continue as captain. Rohit has a chance to redeem himself in the remaining games in Melbourne and Sydney.

Melbourne and Sydney, known for better batting conditions, provide opportunities for him to bounce back and help India secure another series win in Australia and a spot in the World Test Championship final.

The fourth Test between India and Australia will start on Thursday, December 26, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The series will conclude with the New Year Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney, starting on Friday, January 3.
