"If you can perform by looking at the eyes of Australians, then you will get that respect. After (Virat) Kohli, the next in the line is (Jasprit) Bumrah. Wherever you go, it's Bumrah. That's because he is a world-class fast bowler," Ravi Shastri said.
Further speaking, the former India allrounder mentioned that Jasprit Bumrah has earned respect with his performance. The right-arm quick dismantled Australia's batting order with his world-class performance
"There is one thing about Australian crowd and media that if someone plays good cricket in front of them, they give that respect to the player. It's Bumrah in their front page today. If he bowls such kind of a spell, then his name will automatically come in the front page. He has earned that respect.
Impressive captaincy from Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is leading India in the ongoing Test in the absence of Rohit Sharma, who is not part of the squad currently to be with his wife for the birth of their second child.
Bumrah has not only bowled well but also led the team exceptionally well. His bowling changes were spot on in the first innings as he kept the pressure on the opposition all the time. He received good support from Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana in the bowling department.
Virat Kohli's numbers in Australia
Virat Kohli first made a mark in Test cricket in a Test match in Australia. He struck a magnificent hundred in Adelaide during India's 2011-12 tour of Australia, which was also his maiden Test hundred as well.
It was just the start of his Test career as he went on to achieve several milestones later. He struck twin hundreds in the Adelaide Test during the 2014-15 tour as well. Kohli has a superb record in Australia and has scored 1357 runs so far at an average of over 50 with 6 hundreds and 4 fifties.
