Ahmed Shehzad blasts Mohammad Rizwan for playing 'religion card,' Shaheen Afridi shown no mercy for mocking PCB chairman

Pakistan Cricketer Ahmed Shehzad took a brutal dig at Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi for their shameless behavior after the T20 World Cup 2024. He targeted the players for using religion card, saying where does it go when they lie about their fitness.

Nothing has been going right for the Pakistan  National Cricket Team ever since the T20 World Cup 2024 started. Their performances went down as they failed to shine with the bat and ball and faced an early exit from the tournament, facing loss against the United States of America and India.

After that Pakistan faced a lot of criticism as many former players and fans lashed out at the players for the way they performed. Amid the poor performances in the tournament, the PCB chairman made a bold statement, saying that he needed to perform surgery on the team.

Pakistan players in Mohammad Rizwan reacted to the PCB chairman's comment, saying that he can do what he wants to do with the team. He also included a religious comment, saying "Muslims are brand ambassadors of Islam first and then Pakistan. When a player is playing anywhere in the world, he is representing Islam."

Shaheen Afridi was asked about the same but he came up with a sarcastic reply, saying why they need to perform surgery and questioned if someone is sick in the team.

With both the senior players making bizarre comments, Ahmed Shehzad lashed out at them, saying that it is disappointing that players are using religion to hide their poor performances in the World Cup. Taking to his Xaccount, he explained:

"It is disappointing that some players are hiding their poor performance in the World Cup by holding unnecessary press conferences and playing the religion card. Where does religion go when they lie about their fitness and when they admit they were acting on the field? Does religion teach you to deceive others and lie in the field? You are paid to perform on the field and you join the grouping in the team instead. 

"Religion teaches us to fulfil our responsibility with full determination and not to lie about our suffering. Some spokespeople for these players want them to be given another chance, but why? This is the Pakistan team and it is not their home team where they can play. If they want another chance they can make their team and play with their friends but not for the Pakistan cricket team anymore."

Ahmed Shehzad further stated that he won't let PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi forget the surgery that he has promised. He lashed out at Shaheen Afridi for mocking the chairman and stated that they would keep raising their voice till the team was back on track.

"We will not let PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi forget the big surgery he promised. Some players of the Pakistani team are now even mocking the chairman's statement because they don't care. But we will make sure that fans get their answers and action is taken against these players. We have taken a stand and we will not back down until this Pakistan team is back on the right track."
