Aiden Markram Bought By Lucknow Super Giants For INR 2 crore at IPL Auction 2025

South Africa star Aiden Markram has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at a base price of INR 2 crore. The right-handed batsman played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024.
Markram's journey in the IPL began in 2021 when he joined Punjab Kings. In his debut season, he scored 146 runs in 6 games before being released by the Punjab-based franchise. In the 2022 mega auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad signed up Markram.
In his first season with the Hyderabad-based team, the Proteas batter scored 381 runs with the help of three centuries.
A few months later, he led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the title in the inaugural SA20 before Sunrisers Hyderabad appointed him as their captain too for IPL 2023.
Markram, however, failed to impress as a captain and was replaced by Pat Cummins for IPL 2024. In 2024, Markram struggled to get a regular chance in the Sunrisers Hyderabad playing eleven as he played 11 games and scored 220 runs.
After the IPL, he led South Africa to the final of the T20 World Cup and will be hoping to get a lucrative IPL contract.
