Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane revealed the reason why Australian all-rounder Cameron Green did not bowl against the Gujarat Titans (GT). The skipper had earlier blamed Cricket Australia for managing his workload, but now said that severe cramps prevented Green from bowling.
Gujarat Titans secured a comfortable five-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, April 17. The visitors posted a total of 180 after winning the toss. The Knight Riders, who are at the bottom of the table, extended their winless run in the tournament.

It's Never Easy to Come Out and Talk - Ajinkya Rahane
Speaking to broadcasters after their fifth straight defeat, Ajinkya Rahane admitted that it is difficult to face the media after continuous losses. However, he said that they need to take positives from the team’s recovery with the bat after losing three early wickets.
"It's never easy to come out and talk immediately after losing a game, but I'd like to focus on the positives. The way we started, losing three wickets early, was tough," Rahane said.
Kolkata Knight Riders chose to bat after winning the toss. Their innings did not start well, as they lost three wickets early in the powerplay and struggled to build momentum.
Cameron Green scored 79 runs from 55 balls, helping the team reach a total of 180. With the ball, Kagiso Rabada led the attack with three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Ashok Sharma took two wickets each.
Cameron Green's Innings Was Outstanding - Ajinkya Rahane
The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper praised Cameron Green for his counter-attacking innings. Ajinkya Rahane said that he handled pressure and guided the team to a competitive total despite losing wickets regularly.
"Cameron Green's innings was outstanding. He was under pressure, but the way he counter-attacked and took on their bowlers was amazing to see. At 147-4, reaching a total of around 180 was a difficult task for us as a batting unit," Rahane added.
He Was Actually Struggling With Cramps - Ajinkya Rahane
Despite failing to defend their target against Shubman Gill and the strong Gujarat Titans batting lineup, Ajinkya Rahane praised his bowling unit. Rahane said that the bowlers stayed motivated and kept fighting throughout the chase in Ahmedabad.
"I still want to credit our bowlers. It's not easy when things aren't going your way, but they kept coming back and pushing hard," Rahane said.
When asked why Cameron Green did not bowl, Rahane clarified that it was due to fitness issues. He said, "He was actually struggling with cramps, which is why he was in and out of the field."
Ajinkya Rahane had earlier said that Cricket Australia was managing Cameron Green’s workload. Green later returned to bowling for two games, but he was again not used with the ball in the match against Gujarat Titans on Friday, raising fresh questions.
