Ajit Agarkar Believes India Will Benefit From Virat Kohli's Experience In The T20 World Cup

Ajit Agarkar, a former Indian fast bowler, has thrown his support behind Virat Kohli and encouraged him to play for India in the next ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Later this year, the eighth T20 competition will take place in Australia.

For a long time now, Virat has had trouble scoring significant runs in international cricket. He has had trouble remembering things so far in 2022. He is no longer the Indian captain, and his performance has declined as well. In the recently finished all-format series, the right-handed elite batsman was only able to score 76 runs in six innings versus England. He had a typical IPL 2022 season before that.

There are concerns over Virat’s status in the Indian team because of his recent batsmanship, but according to Agarkar, India will need his experience in a major competition like the T20 World Cup and that is why he has batted in favor of his selection.
‘He has got a bit of time till the World Cup’: Ajit Agarkar
The former cricketer Ajit Agarkar believes that speculation regarding Virat’s future in the shortest format of the game is “premature,” and he expects that Virat will regain his form before the championship match in Australia.
“He is making progress. He is currently thinking about different escape routes. He is a skilled run scorer.
“He is currently going through a hard phase, which every great player experiences from time to time. “Hopefully, for India’s sake, he gets back to form soon given there is a 50-over World Cup next year,” Ajit Agarkar told FanCode during India’s first ODI against the West Indies in Port of Spain on Friday.

“He still has some time until the World Cup. A brilliant player like Virat Kohli shouldn’t, however, be out of form for too long. He received a few starts even in England, but I do not believe he has been at his best.
“Everyone is a little concerned because of this. Great athletes occasionally find a way once they get going, but he is not doing so at the moment,” Ajit Agarkar said.
Even though Kohli has not recorded a century in any format in almost three years, his teammates and previous cricket players still support the great batsman.
