Akeal Hosein goes unsold at IPL Auction 2025

Akeal Hosein has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 1.5 crore. The West Indies spinner has played for only one team in the IPL so far - Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In 2023, he made his debut in the IPL while representing the Hyderabad-based outfit. He could play only one game in his debut IPL season and picked up one wicket. While Akeal has played only one game in the IPL so far, he has ample T20 experience.

Akeal has plied his trade in several leagues around the world such as the Caribbean Premier League, The Hundred, Major League Cricket, Pakistan Super League, International League T20, and the Big Bash League.

In international cricket, he is a regular in West Indies' T20I side. He has played 65 T20Is so far and picked up 57 wickets while maintaining an economy rate of less than 8. Overall, Hosein has played 190 T20s and picked up 177 wickets.
