Royal Challengers Bangalore have bolstered their bowling lineup by signing up West Indies’ Alzarri Joseph in the ongoing IPL auction 2024. The Bengaluru-based outfit had released a number of fast bowlers last month including the likes of Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, David Willey, and Wayne Parnell, and needed a quality pacer.

The Bengaluru-based outfit went all out for Alzarri Joseph and secured his services for Rs 11.50 crores. The West Indian had registered himself at a base price of Rs 1 crore. Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals began the bidding for him and as the price inched towards the Rs. 5 crore mark, Lucknow Super Giants joined the race.  Royal Challengers Bangalore made their first bid at Rs. 6.80 crores and went on to sign him for Rs 11.50 crores.

Alzarri Joseph has played three seasons in the IPL so far. His journey began in 2019 when Mumbai Indians roped him in as a replacement for Adam Milne and he made an instant impact by taking a sensational 6-wicket haul on his debut against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He went unsold in 2021 before being signed up by Gujarat Titans in the 2022 auction.
