Former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu has made some wild predictions that set the social media on fire ahead of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL 2026 match on Sunday, April 5, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The Chennai Super Kings have begun their IPL campaign without MS Dhoni for the first-ever time. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter already missed the first two games and he is likely to miss another three matches of the ongoing IPL 2026 due to a calf injury.

Ambati Rayudu makes bold IPL predictions

Since CSK is set to face Bengaluru in their third IPL 2026 clash, many have been wondering if Dhoni has already played his last match against RCB, and now Ambati Rayudu’s wild prediction add fuel to the fire. Actually, the former CSK batter shared some bold and surprising opinions during a fan segment.

During the fun segment on ESPNCricinfo, Rayudu backed RCB to have a stronger playoff chance than CSK in the ongoing IPL 2026. The former MI batter has even hinted that the current RCB captain Rajat Patidar might end his career with more trophies than the current CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Ambati Rayudu says MS Dhoni played his last game against RCB

When the round shifted to Dhoni and Virat Kohli, Rayudu’s reactions caught everyone’s eye. With a wry smile, the cricket pandit has made it clear that Dhoni will not have long IPL career than Kohli. But he didn’t see Kohli lifting more IPL titles than him with the Mumbai Indians.

Rayudu also played down the buzz that the RCB-MI rivalry has reached the MI-CSK level. With Dhoni still sitting out and the recovery taking longer than expected, Rayudu clearly mentioned that the fans might have watched the final Dhoni vs RCB showdown. He hinted that Dhoni had already played his last game against the RCB, and now his predictions have gone viral online.

CSK in crisis while RCB full of confidence

Meanwhile, RCB enters the contest with high confidence following a dominant victory in the 2026 season opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Virat Kohli, who smashed a classy unbeaten 69 against SRH, needs just 14 runs to become the player with the most runs against a single opponent in IPL history, and he can achieve this feat against the five-time IPL champions.

On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK is in a deep crisis, languishing at the bottom of the table after two straight defeats against the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. Dhoni’s absence left a massive leadership and finishing void in the CSK camp.

And then, Sanju Samson has had a tough start to IPL 2026, and he’s yet to find form. This is also hurting the Chennai franchise. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has dismissed Samson four times before, is ready to trouble him again. This battle could decide CSK’s fate in Bengaluru.

Ayush Mhatre will be their biggest weapon in this IPL 2026 clash. This RCB vs CSK game promises a classic chapter in the IPL's greatest rivalries on Sunday evening.
