English Red registered a crushing nine-wicket victory over American Indigos in the 12th match of the ongoing Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) T20 at Yamuna Sports Complex Cricket Ground, Delhi on Thursday (October 6).
Opting to bat first, American Indigos were only able to score a paltry 129/8 in 20 overs. It was a listless batting performance as no batter even managed to touch the 30-run mark. Skipper Narsingh Deonarine was the top scorer with 23-ball 28 while Mrunal Patel also contributed 24 runs off 20 balls.
Tommy Rex Shines With The Ball For English Red
Tommy Rex starred with the ball for English Red, claiming 4 wickets by conceding just 24 runs in his spell of 3.5 overs. Gurbaj Singh also returned with impressive figures, picking 2 wickets while giving away just 15 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, English Red on the back of an amazing opening partnership of 113 runs between Amrit Singh (54* off 46) and Umang Sharma (63 off 57) and completed the run chase without any hassle with 10 balls to spare.
Anirudh Immanuel was the only wicket-taker for the American Indigos as he returned with figures of 1 for 20 in 2.2 overs.
