KKR dugout shocked after mindless run-out decision from TV Umpire ruling Angkrish Raghuvanshi out

KKR were already in trouble with their two openers back in the dugout at the start of the powerplay, and TV umpire Rohan Pandit's controversial call leaves the camp alongside Angkrish Raghuvanshi in distress.

Another game and another poor start from the Kolkata Knight Riders batters as they failed to keep up their momentum from the last win and once again collapsed in the powerplay. Seifert was the first to depart and was followed by his skipper Ajinkya Rahane.

KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi dismissed in the most bizzare fashion after TV umpire's controversial call

However, the main controversy erupted with Angkrish Raghuvanshi's wicket, which looked unfair from every angle to the young batter, as third umpire Rohan Pandit ruled a decision against the KKR batter.

In the last ball of the penultimate over of the powerplay, Raghuvanshi attempted to run a single against Prince Yadav, and the ball was cleanly collected at short mid-wicket by the LSG fielder.

Raghuvanshi, halfway through the pitch, looked to turn back and, in the process, had to take a U-turn, which led the ball to hit his boots as the fielder aimed at the stumps. However, LSG appealed for an obstruction in the field, and the TV umpire found Raghuvanshi guilty over the same, thus declaring him out.

Shane Watson in disbelief, Abhishek Nayar argues with umpire after Raghuvanshi's dismissal

After assessing the conditions, the TV umpire concluded that Angkrish Raghuvanshi had been keeping an eye on the ball and his turn was intentional in order to block the path of the ball aimed at the stumps.

As the three alphabets in red appeared on the big screen, not only Raghuvanshi on the field but also the coaches off the field were in absolute disbelief. Shane Watson was shocked alongside the team mentor Dwayne Bravo.

Abhishek Nayar, the head coach, walked to the umpire off the field and had a rough conversation with him alongside the sidelines, showing his disapproval of the TV umpire's awkward call. Though the decision was as per the rules, the circumstances did not look like Raghuvanshi intended to obstruct the field.

Mohsin Khan returns with career-best figures against KKR

Other than that run-out, all other wickets that fell in the KKR innings until the 11th over went on to add to the tally of Mohsin Khan, the left-arm seamer. Khan used his variations in the most well-controlled fashion.

After the three wickets of Tim Seifert, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rovman Powell in his first three overs, he returned to break the partnership growing between Rinku Singh and Cameron Green. Green, who flicked him for a six, looked to take on a slower ball outside the off-stump but failed to predict the pace on the ball.

He top-edged that one and was caught by Rishabh Pant with the gloves. Anukul Roy was welcomed with a 143 km/h beamer, and he could do little more than chip it to the fielder at short mid-wicket, but that was exactly what he did, handing Mohsin his fifth wicket of the game.

He finished his spell with the figures of 5/23 in his 4 overs before being replaced by the impact player.
