Anrich Nortje Bought By Kolkata Knight Riders For INR 6.50 crore at IPL Auction 2025

South Africa star Anrich Nortje has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at a base price of INR 2 crore. One of the fastest bowlers in the world at present, the Proteas star is expected to attract good bids in the auction.

Nortje's journey in the IPL began in 2020 with Delhi Capitals. He hit the ground running in the tournament. In his first IPL season, Anrich Nortje picked up 22 wickets and helped Delhi Capitals qualify for the final for the first time.

In IPL 2021, the right-arm pacer impressed once again as he picked up 12 wickets in 8 games while maintaining an economy rate of just 6.16. After two strong seasons, Delhi Capitals retained him ahead of the 2022 mega auction.

In IPL 2022, Nortje picked up 9 wickets before taking 10 wickets in 2023. In IPL 2024, he struggled with his rhythm in IPL as he was returning to action after a lengthy injury layoff. However, he bounced back in style in the T20 World Cup.

He was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the competition. In nine games, he picked up 15 wickets and helped South Africa qualify for the World Cup final for the first time in their history.
