Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar mocked England National Cricket Team batter Harry Brook after he failed in the game against Afghanistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He took a jibe at the batter for the comments that he made during the India tour.
England National Cricket Team faced an early exit from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after their disappointing loss against Afghanistan National Cricket Team. The Jos Buttler-led side went on to lose the match by eight wickets and it marked their second straight loss in the tournament.

England's horrible batting effort was one of the major reasons behind the loss. Apart from Joe Root, no other batter could get going and ended up giving their wickets as the Three Lions failed to progress into the knockouts for the second time in the last three ICC events.

Coming into the tournament, there were a lot of expectations from young talented Harry Brook, but he too, was a big failure. In the match against Afghanistan, the young batter didn't have a great outing as he ended up gifting his wicket at a crucial juncture of the game.
Brook ended up giving a simple catch to bowler Mohammad Nabi in the 22nd over. The right-hander scored just 25 runs off 23 balls as England National Cricket Team lost their fourth wicket for just 133 runs in the chase of 326 runs in a virtual knockout of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
With Brook and England failing to perform, former cricketers Michael Vaughan, Michael Atherton, and Nasser Hussain expressed their displeasure. Sunil Gavaskar also didn't shy away from taking a dig at the England batter.

He mocking asked if the air quality was good in Lahore for Brook. The former India National Cricket Team skipper went hard at the young batter, saying that he ended up giving a simple catch. Speaking on the DP World Dressing Room Show on Ten Sports, he said:
"I just saw Harry Brook's dismissal. Are the lights in Lahore ok or not? Because when he played in Kolkata, he said that he couldn't see the ball properly because of smog. That's why I'm asking. I hope the Lahore lights are fine? Because of the catching practice, he gave to get out… I don't know."

For unversed, during the T20I series against India, Harry Brook came up with a bizarre statement after he failed to score runs in the first game. He mentioned that although Varun Chakravarthy is a good bowler it was hard to pick him with smog in Kolkata.
