Arjun Tendulkar Smashes Century On Ranji Trophy Debut, Emulates Father Sachin Tendulkar

The rising all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar smashed his maiden century on his Ranji Trophy debut. The ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar too had scored a century on debut way back in 1988 against Gujarat when he was playing for  Mumbai. when he was 15 years old.

Sachin Tendulkar would be delighted as we should not forget that Arjun Tendulkar plays as a fast bowler. Arjun is in the team Goa as earlier the youngster was in Mumbai Cricket Team. But due to a lack of opportunities, Arjun shifted to Goa and he also played Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for them. He took 10 wickets in 7 outings with an economy of 5.69.

Arjun Tendulkar Smashes a Century

Arjun had come into bat at the No.7 position against Rajasthan on day 1 when the score was 201-5. On Day 2, the left-handed batter formed an invaluable partnership of 221 runs along with the overnight batter Suyash Prabhudessai. Suyash went on to score 212 runs in 416 balls whereas Arjun scored 120 runs in 207 balls. The left-handed batter gave a glimpse of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar through his stroke play.

Arjun Tendulkar a Promising Cricketer

Arjun Tendulkar currently is in the MI (Mumbai Indians) squad but is yet to get a game. The Cricketer has got some express pace that can rattle the opponent. The speedster would be well aware of the fact that his batting can lead into India A setup as India doesn’t have too many fast bowling all-rounders.

If Arjun get s a chance in IPL, then he may be used as a pinch hitter as he has shown his hitting prowess in domestic circuit. It would be interesting to see whether MI gives him a chance as they would be aware of 2022 debacle where they were beaten in all the 3 facets of the game.
