Former India National Cricket Team player Yograj Singh shared his take on the future of Arjun Tendulkar. He said that the all-rounder needs to work under Yuvraj Singh for a few days, and he will turn into Chris Gayle.

Son of great Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar, hasn't been able to live up to the expectations. The all-rounder, who had a lot of baggage because of his father, has been decent, but his performances haven't been consistent, which has led to him facing a lot of criticism.

Arjun Tendulkar trained under Yograj Singh for two years after Sachin Tendulkar had requested Yuvraj Singh

Arjun Tendulkar first started his career with Mumbai, but he didn't get many opportunities. In the few games that he played, he wasn't able to set the stage on fire, and ultimately, it saw him changing the state and moving from Mumbai to Goa, where he has been doing a great job.

When Tendulkar moved from Mumbai to Goa, he trained under Yograj Singh for two years. This came after Sachin Tendulkar had requested Yuvraj for Yograj to train Arjun. The move worked fantastically well for the youngster as he made an immediate impact.

Tendulkar slammed a century on his Ranji Trophy debut for Goa and made sure to make Yograj Singh proud. However, that association was short-lived, but the former India National Cricket Team player believes that the youngster will reach heights if guided properly.

I think that Arjun should be handed over to Yuvraj for a while - Yograj Singh

Yograj Singh said that Arjun Tendulkar should focus more on his batting rather than bowling. He suggested that the youngster should work under his son, Yuvraj Singh, and he will turn into Chris Gayle. Speaking to Cricket Next, he explained:

"With regards to Arjun, I said, focus less on his bowling and more on his batting. But if Yuvraj – he and Sachin are so close – takes Sachin's son under his wings for three months, I bet he will become the next Chris Gayle.

"Often it happens that a fast bowler, if he undergoes a stress fracture, cannot bowl as effectively. I think that Arjun should be handed over to Yuvraj for a while."

Arjun was last seen in action during the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Goa

Arjun was last seen in action during the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Goa. Before that, he had a great outing with the ball in the Ranji Trophy as he picked his maiden First-Class five-wicket-haul, grabbing 5/25 vs Arunachal in the Ranji Trophy. This was shortly after his figures of 4/81 against Sikkim. He has also played six matches for the Mumbai Indians.

Arjun Tendulkar is part of the Mumbai Indians set-up in the ongoing IPL 2025. The all-rounder was brought by the franchise for the INR 30 lakh, and he would be keen to get an opportunity to play.
