Arshdeep Singh recalls the unforgettable Bhangra moment with Virat Kohli after winning the T20 World Cup 2024
After lifting the trophy, Indian stars have had a gala time on the field. In one of the heartwarming moments in Barbados, Arshdeep was seen dancing with Kohli to the tunes of 'Tunak Tunak' after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, and the clip of the moment was all over the internet.
It is no secret how Kohli loves doing dance and bhangra on the field. Being a Punjabi lad, the dashing right-hander doesn’t take time to shake his leg whenever he hears music, and he already has a lot of memories of doing bhangra on the field.
Well, it was the occasion of India’s historic triumph, and Kohli had participated in another Punjabi Arshdeep, so they set the field on fire with their impressive bhangra to the famous Bappi Lehri song 'Tunak Tunak'.
Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh recalled doing the bhangra with Virat Kohli after the 2024 T20 World Cup final in Barbados. He also revealed why Jasprit Bumrah, who is also a Punjabi, didn’t join them.
It’s very rare to see Jasprit Bumrah's emotion: Arshdeep Singh
The young pacer said that Bumrah is not a typical Punjabi, and he very rarely shows his emotions. However, Bumrah was also quite emotional and broke down after hugging his wife Sanjana Ganesan following the final, and Arshdeep said that he had seen that side of the Indian pacer for the first time.
Arshdeep also said that he enjoyed doing bhangra with Kohli. The Indian star said that they both come from the same Punjabi culture, and the DJ was playing the perfect song. It was the moment of winning the T20 World Cup 2024, so they just started doing Bhangra and enjoyed it a lot. He also opened up about his bond with Kohli.
Arshdeep Singh was quoted as saying by The Indian Express: “It’s very rare to see Jassi bhai’s emotion. But after the win, he was also very emotional. His family was with him. He is not expressive when you compare him with a typical Punjabi. He expressed a lot after the win and it was good to see.
Usually, he has a straight face whether he takes a wicket or delivers yorkers. It was different to see him expressing his emotions. The bond with Virat bhai has always been great. Same Punjabi culture, he also loves to shake his leg. The DJ was playing a perfect song (I can’t remember it now), the timing was perfect and we started doing bhangra.”
