Arshdeep Singh totally demolished by Ravichandran Ashwin for horrible 12-ball overs

Former cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin criticized Punjab Kings (PBKS) fast bowler Arshdeep Singh following his recent bowling performances. Ashwin questioned Arshdeep Singh's lack of discipline in the ongoing IPL, pointing out his repeated tendency to bowl long overs and his failure to maintain consistent control.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted a massive total of 219 runs after batting first at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. Punjab Kings chased down the target with nine deliveries remaining in the second innings. They moved to second place in the table with seven points from four matches.
That Needs to Be Addressed - Ravichandran Ashwin on Arshdeep Singh’s Wide Balls
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin opened up about the number of wide deliveries bowled by Arshdeep Singh. He pointed out that Arshdeep Singh bowled wides against every team, causing major problems for the Punjab Kings.
"These 14-ball, and 12-ball overs by Arshdeep, I don't know yaar. He did this with the Indian team as well. He was bowling wide to Abhishek, and then bowled straight in the hitting zone after that. So there is something there that needs to be addressed," R Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.
Arshdeep Singh dismissed Ishan Kishan and Salil Arora but conceded 50 runs in his expensive spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The pacer also conceded four sixes and three boundaries in the match. He currently averages 74.50 with an economy rate of 10.74 this season.
SRH Are Running All Over the Place At This Point - Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin said that Sunrisers Hyderabad are lacking reliable bowling options except Shivang Kumar. He also expressed disappointment with the batting effort, saying aggressive players like Heinrich Klaasen must deliver more.
"SRH are running all over the place at this point. They have neither any options nor any strength in their bowling. Shivang Kumar is doing as much as they can. The kind of batting they have, they underachieved with 220. Klaasen is not able to play those big hits these days," Ashwin stated.
Their Bowling Attack Does Not Have Any Strength - Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin further said that Sunrisers Hyderabad must aim for scores close to 240 to make up for their weak bowling attack. He also warned that Sunrisers Hyderabad could face an early exit.
"They have to target 240, their bowling attack does not have any strength. They won by playing well against KKR, but I don't know. A lot of these teams are in a similar place. In Delhi's case, if KL Rahul does not play the whole innings, they will also struggle. I think there is going to be a real middle-table muddle. SRH are a team that I think will fizzle out quite quickly," Ashwin added.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will face the unbeaten Rajasthan Royals in their next match. They need a crucial win at home on Monday to stop their losing run after back-to-back defeats against Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings.
