Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman, Arun Dhumal, has backed the bold 'no-rivalry' claim between India and Pakistan of the T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav.

Suryakumar Yadav recently led India to Asia Cup 2025 glory at the Dubai International Stadium, where the Men In Blue beat the Pakistan National Cricket Team in a thrilling final.

Reaching the top is very easy, but maintaining that position is a very difficult task - Arun Dhumal

Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India captured their first major title post-Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli era. They dominated in the Asia Cup 2025 and headed into the final unbeaten.

In the summit clash, Team India beat Team Pakistan for the third consecutive time in the continental tournament to complete a 3-0 sweep and win their 9th Asia Cup title.

However, they are still waiting to get their hands on the trophy as the PCB Chairman and ACC President, Mohsin Naqvi, ran away with the trophy and medals after Indian players refused to take it from him.

Meanwhile, Arun Dhumal congratulated India on their immensely successful Asia Cup 2025 campaign and labelled the Suryakumar Yadav-led side as the best team in the world.

"Reaching the top is very easy, but maintaining that position is a very difficult task. India was the No. 1 team in T20s, and the way they performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, winning all their matches convincingly, I want to congratulate the Indian team for that.

"Special congratulations to Suryakumar Yadav and all the team members who played outstanding cricket. By winning the championship, they have shown the world that they are the best team in the world," Dhumal told IANS.

It is the decision of the Government of India that we will not play a bilateral series with Pakistan - Arun Dhumal

Arun Dhumal further said that the bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan is not in the cards in the near future because the government has decided it will not happen.

"See, it is the decision of the Government of India that we will not play a bilateral series with Pakistan, and we fully support this decision. In this matter, the BCCI will align with the Government's stance. For the BCCI, the country comes first, and cricket comes next."

Arun Dhumal also reckoned that the controversies that unfolded during the Asia Cup 2025 shouldn't have happened.

"Many things happened that, in my opinion, should not have occurred on the sporting field, but they did. Now, we should not dwell on what has already happened. Once again, we congratulate the Indian team for their outstanding performance."

I believe the hype around India-Pakistan matches has been exaggerated - Arun Dhumal

Sharing his bold views, Arun Dhumal further stated that Pakistan are no match to India because the Men In Blue are far too superior. He claimed that the India vs Pakistan clashes have been 'exaggerated'.

"I believe the hype around India-Pakistan matches has been exaggerated. As has been said before, these contests are no longer what they once were. If you ask any Indian to name 24 Pakistani players, they probably won't remember. In the past, names like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar would come to mind, but they are no longer there.

"I also believe that matches against countries like England, New Zealand, or Australia are far more competitive. Since Pakistan is our neighbour, and our relations are sometimes tense, the media tends to create extra hype," he added.

Notably, at a press conference during the Asia Cup, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav bluntly said that there is no rivalry between India and Pakistan because the Men In Blue just don't lose to the arch-rivals
