As India keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant gears for the gruelling Test series against England, starting next week, he reflected on his journey in the longest format. Rishabh Pant is arguably the best keeper-batsman in Test cricket at present and has grown into a superstar in the version. The 23-year old underlined he has grown a lot in the last year, getting a good learning curve.
Rishabh Pant has been in sensational form in the last few months in Test cricket. After playing an instrumental role in the historic series win in Australia, the 23-year old also had an unforgettable home series against England. The southpaw has a formidable record in red-ball cricket, having smashed 1403 runs in 21 Tests at 43.84 with three centuries and six fifties.
Rishabh Pant, who made his Test debut in England in 2018, revealed it has been an incredible journey and gained good lessons. The Delhi-born keeper-batsman stated that everyone goes through rough times, evolve, improve themselves, and come back strongly.
“I think it’s been an amazing journey because there have been a lot of ups and downs. But it has been a good learning for me. As a cricketer, you evolve, learning from your mistakes, improve yourselves, come back to the ground and perform well,” Pant told in a video uploaded by the BCCI.
You keep doing your processes right but sometimes you don’t get the result: Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant further conceded he has evolved aplenty as a cricketer over the last year as he stuck to the processes despite not getting the results. But the youngster believes one has to follow it and said he is pleased to reap its rewards now.
“I think as a cricketer, I have evolved more what I have been doing in last one year or so. You keep doing your processes right but sometimes you don’t get the result. But you have to trust your process and keep doing the same thing again and again. I have been getting the results now so that’s the happy part,” he added.
