Ashes 2023: England Squad For 3rd Test vs Australia Announced

On Sunday, July 2, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced a 15-member squad for the third Test of the ongoing Ashes 2023 series against the Australia National Cricket Team.
The squad announcement came the same day after the Ben Stokes-led side were handed a 43-run loss by the visitors at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

The second Test turned out to be a stunning contest between the two great Test-playing nations. Pat Cummins & Co. gave a target of 371 runs to England to chase in the final innings of the match with one and a half days remaining.

However, Stokes was unable to repeat his Headingley 2019 heroics as he was cleaned by the premier pacer Josh Hazlewood. Stokes got out after scoring 155 runs off 214 balls, with 9 fours and 9 sixes.

Just after the defeat, England announced their squad for the third Test. There were quite a few notable changes in the squad as two players were dropped. The players were Matthew Potts and Rehan Ahmed.

Meanwhile, the veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali, who sustained a finger injury in the first Test and was forced to miss the second game, has retained his place in the squad.

Australia have taken a 2-0 lead in the series after registering back-to-back wins and they will be looking to seal the series in the third Test, which is set to be played from July 06 to 10, 2023 at the Headingley in Leeds.
