Ashes 2023: Ollie Robinson Doubtful For Ashes After Suffering Back Spasm On Day 1 At Headingley

England pacer Ollie Robinson is doubtful for the Ashes 2023 after he suffered the injury during the second session of the ongoing Day 1 of the Headingley Test in Leeds. The fast bowler had discomfort in his back and went back to the dressing room in the middle of his over.

Ollie Robinson was into his 12th over and after bowling two balls he walked off the field and in his place Stuart Broad completed his over. The medical team of ECB assessed him during the tea break and it was revealed that he had sustained a back spasm.

Ollie Robinson was deemed unfit to take part in further day’s play. It still remains unclear if he will take part in the game further or not. If he isn’t able to play the rest of the game, it’ll be a big setback for England as he has bowled beautifully in the series and is currently the second leading wicket-taker in the series.

Ashes 2023: Mark Wood takes fifer on return as England folds Australia for just 263 runs in Headingley

England opted to bowl first after winning the toss and their decision paid off as they bowled staggering well. Stuart Broad was the shining light for the team in the first session as he removed David Warner and Steve Smith early. Mark Wood, who made a comeback into the team after injury, also removed dangerous Usman Khawaja in the first session.

Mitchell Marsh for Australia played a blinder as he smashed a ton and bailed his side out of trouble. But Mark Wood breathed fire and picked a fifer. He was complimented well by Chris Woakes, who also picked three wickets, as England bundled out Australia for 263 runs in their first innings.
