England and Australia are currently locking horns in the first match of the Ashes 2023 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Home skipper Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bat first. The two teams have so far gone neck to neck with each other and have played a high brand of cricket.

England despite losing the wickets at regular intervals have kept scoring runs at a decent pace and have kept fans at the stands entertained. Among all the 5 wickets that have fallen so far, the scalp of Harry Brook caught the attention of many.

Harry Brook, who was going great guns with bat and looked set for a big score, was dismissed in an unusual way off Nathan Lyon’s bowling. It was during the second ball of the 38th over when the off-spinner bowled a short delivery on the pads from around the wicket and the ball took some extra bounce from the surface.

The ball hit the thigh pad of Harry Brook and it lobed up. The batter along with Australia keeper Alex Carey and the short-leg fielder had no idea where the ball was going. The ball landed up between the batter and stumps and then went on to hit the stumps.

Harry Brook looked in great touch as he played some breathtaking shots and put Australian bowlers under pressure. The young batter scored 32 runs off 37 balls with the help of 4 boundaries and helped England go past 150 tuns.

Ashes 2023: Zack Crawley Slams a blistering half-century for England

Zack Crawley so far has been England’s best batter in the ongoing first Test against Australia. The opener batter kickstarted the series on high as he tonked the first ball for the four and then didn’t look back after that.

Crawley gave England a solid start and slammed a half-century on the first day of the Ashes 2023 before he was back in the hut on the stroke of the lunch. He ended with the knock of 61 runs in 73 balls with the help of seven boundaries.
