The ongoing second Test of the Ashes 2023 is currently taking place at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. After being evenly poised the first two days of the game, Australia have been all over England on Day 3.

Australian bowlers deployed the short ball ploy and took six English wickets for just 47 runs in the morning session. They bundled out the hosts for just 325 runs, taking the lead of 93 runs. Even after that they have batted exceptionally well and have put the opposition under pressure.

England bowlers looked tentative and agitated as well as Australian batters didn’t give them any leeway. Stuart Broad, who has been bowling his heart out fumed at skipper Ben Stokes after he didn’t review the lbw call for Marnus Labuschagne.

Stuart Broad bowled a nip-backer that moved in from a length and hit Marnus Labuschagne on the front pad. The bowler appealed loudly but that umpire didn’t give it out. But the later Hawkeye showed that the ball was hitting stumps.

After head coach Brendon McCullum signaled from the balcony that Marnus Labuschagne was out, Stuart Broad was fuming at skipper Ben Stokes for not taking the review.

Thankfully the call to not take the review didn’t cost England much as James Anderson after two overs later removed Marnus Labuschagne for 30 runs. The veteran pacer bowled a short and wide delivery, to which the batter tried to slap. But unfortunately, he found the fielder at the backward point.
