Ashish Nehra to resign from Gujarat Titans before IPL 2025? Massive update arrives
Ashish Nehra has been Gujarat Titans' head coach ever since the franchise's emergence in 2022. The franchise has witnessed some unprecedented success under Nehra in its short history so far.
In their first IPL season in 2022, Gujarat Titans launched a huge surprise and emerged as the IPL champions by defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final.
They maintained the consistency in the next season as well and made it to the final where they narrowly lost to Chennai Super Kings.
Their success was hugely credited to the brilliant work of their team management, which was led by Ashish Nehra.
Nehra's involvement in the game and constant chatting about the game situations with the captain and the bowlers made him an ultimate coaching star.
But recently, Cricbuzz reported that Ashish Nehra might leave Gujarat Titans and hinted that he might leave the franchise before the next season. With the Titans' title win in 2022, Nehra became the first Indian coach to win an IPL trophy.

Ashish Nehra to continue as Gujarat Titans head coach?
However, Sportstar rejected this report and claimed that Ashish Nehra is not leaving Gujarat Titans and will continue as the head coach of the franchise for the next season. He will play a key part in the IPL 2025 mega-auctions for the franchise.
According to Sportstar, Gujarat Titans is instead looking for a new batting coach who can replace Gary Kirsten. Kirsten has already left Titans to join Pakistan as their white-ball head coach.
Nehra's overall stint with Gujarat Titans has been highly successful so far. In the first two seasons, his camaraderie with skipper Hardik Pandya played perfectly in the hands of the Titans.
However, Hardik left the franchise before IPL 2024 to join his former team Mumbai Indians.
Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024
As a result, Gujarat Titans had to look for a new captain, and rising star Shubman Gill was appointed for the role. Gill did a fairly decent job in his first season as captain, however, GT's constant injury issues and unavailability of players hurt them.
IPL 2024 became the first season in which Gujarat Titans could not make it to the playoffs for the first time. They finished in 8th spot in the points table with 5 wins in 14 matches.
Since Shubman Gill is in India's leadership now as well (he is India's vice-captain in white-ball teams), the Titans are likely to retain the youngster for the captaincy and will look to prepare a solid team around him.
Ashish Nehra is someone who has been always easy to reach out to. The former India fast bowler played 17 Tests, 120 ODIs, and 27 T20Is for India. He was a part of India's squad that won the 2011 ODI World Cup and was also part of the team that reached the 2003 ODI World Cup final.
Nehra's easy and simple methods in coaching have earned him a lot of praise around the cricketing fraternity. Despite being a senior, he has the ability to mix with the youngsters and understand their mentality towards the game.
