Bangladeshi wicketkeeper cum batsman, Litton Das will be missing the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023 since he has failed to recover from a high fever. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) still has not named the official replacement but it is likely to be named soon.
BCB Cricket Operations Committee chairman Jalal Younus spoke to The Daily Star on Sunday (August 27th) and said that the 28-year-old Litton Das is suffering from a high fever for which he won’t be traveling to Sri Lanka to play their first match of the tournament.
There were some speculations that the player was suffering from dengue, While replying to it Jalal said that the player had tested negative for Dengue and if he managed to recover in time then the player would take the next flight and travel to Sri Lanka.
Jalal also added that if Litton Das fails to recover from high fever then the team management will find a replacement to take Das’s place in the squad.
“Litton is suffering from fever. He tested negative for Dengue. So if he recovers early, he will take the next flight to Sri Lanka. But if he does not recover, then we may have to think about a replacement,” Jalal Younus said.
