Asia Cup 2023: Naseem Shah Provides Massive Update On His Shoulder Injury

Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah survived an injury scare after he picked up a shoulder injury in the ongoing edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) according to reports in Cricket Pakistan.
Naseem Shah was forced to miss the crucial game for Colombo Stikers on Tuesday, August 15, against Galle Titans at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo due to a shoulder injury. He has picked 10 wickets in seven games for his LPL franchise at an average of 19.40, an economy of 7.32.
Naseem along with Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf is an important part of the pace-bowling group of Pakistan. The trio needs to be at the peak of their health for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The young pacer has now provided an update regarding his injury.

There Is No Injury Or Anything Like That: Naseem Shah
“There is no injury or anything like that. I have been playing a lot of cricket recently, including the Sri Lanka Tests and back-to-back matches [in the LPL]. In this weather, it is very tiring, so some rest was needed. Babar also said that it would be better to take some rest because we have important matches coming up” said Naseem to Cricket Pakistan.
Talking about the LPL 2023, Dambulla Aura, Galle Titans, B Love-Kandy, and Jaffna Kings have qualified for the final four. Naseem’s franchise Colombo Strikers have been eliminated from the tournament. The final will be played on August 20 in Colombo.
Pakistan has announced a 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2023 with Naseem being a part of it. The Men In Green will open their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against Nepal on August 30 at Multan Cricket Stadium. They will next take on arch-rivals India at the Pallekele International Cricket on September 2.
