Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a verbal warning to pacer Shahnawaz Dahani for his Tweet on social media after he was not considered for the Pakistan team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, as per PTI.
Shahnawaz Dahani missed out on the squad for the ODIs against Afghanistan and Asia Cup 2023. He posted a cryptic tweet, in which he took a slight dig at chief selector Inzamam-Ul-Haq, saying that the former skipper and media were unaware that he’s also a bowler.
“Seems they don’t know I am a Pakistani bowler and no one in the press conference even asked him (Inzamam) about my selection,” Shahnawaz Dahani wrote.
After his antics, Shahnawaz Dahani was contacted by PCB and they issued him a warning for his tweets. Following that the pacer realised what he did and deleted his posts.
Pakistan Squad for the Asia Cup
With Asia Cup 2023 set to begin on 30th August, Pakistan have named their squad for the tournament. It’s fair to say that the majority of the players from this team will be traveling to India as well for the World Cup. Out of 13 games, 4 matches will be played in Pakistan whereas 9 games will be played in Sri Lanka. The much-anticipated clash against India will be played on 2nd September in Pallekele. There are high chances that they will be playing each other in the Super 4 stage and if they play well there, they will be seen in action in the final as well.
Here’s the Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup 2023:
