Asia Cup 2023: Rahul Dravid And Jay Shah Had A Long Meeting In USA During WI Series - Reports

Reportedly, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) secretary and Indian Cricket Team head coach Rahul Dravid had a long meeting in the USA before the fourth and fifth T20I match against West Indies.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, Jay Shah was in the United States during India’s visit and stayed in a private meeting, and Rahul Dravid who was in the team hotel traveled to the BCCI secretary’s hotel for a two-hour-long meeting. However, what are the matters that have been discussed are not disclosed but it is being said that India’s current performance ahead of the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup was the main topic.

Recently, Rahul Dravid has been criticized by cricket pundits on the micro-blogging site, X (formerly knock as Twitter) for experimenting with the team’s batting order in the three-match ODI series against West Indies. Many critics think Rahul Dravid should have used Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the 50-over format.

In the 20-over format series, India had a disappointing performance and lost the series by 3-2. The Men in Blues started the series with two consecutive losses but gained momentum and won the third and fourth T20I match after displaying an extraordinary performance.

In the fifth T20I match, Rahul Dravid’s India lost the match by eight wickets. The Men in Blues opener, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to score runs but Suryakumar Yadav led the batting lineup and played a 61-run from 41 balls. In the second inning, the bowling attack failed to take wickets and defend the target.

India’s recent performance has been under scanner and are struggling with injury problems. The Men in Blues will start their Asia Cup 2023 journey against Pakistan on September 2nd at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.
