Former Pakistan National Cricket Team skipper Salman Butt has made a massive remark on India National Cricket Team, saying that they only have two complete bowlers available in the squad at the moment.

According to Butt, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are the two players in the Indian squad, who are the match-winners in the bowling department. He further said that Mohammed Siraj has made significant improvements in his bowling, but other than the aforementioned pacers, Team India don’t have bowlers who can threaten the opposition.

“Barring Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, there is no complete bowler in India. There isn’t anybody else who is a one-man matchwinner.”

“Mohammed Siraj is an upcoming bowler and has improved significantly. However, apart from these two or three pacers, there isn’t a bowler who can threaten the opposition,” he said on his YouTube channel.

Salman Butt further compared India with England and said that these two teams rely heavily on their batting line-up to bring success as they only have a limited number of choices in the bowling unit.

“So, it is understandable why they are more dependent on their batting. Much like England, India rely on their batters to set up a big total, as they do not have enough choices in bowling that they would ideally want,” he added.

Salman Butt Shares His Take On India’s Asia Cup Squad

On Monday, August 21, BCCI organized a press conference where captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar named India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2023.

India were boosted with the return of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer to the squad in the batting department while Jasprit Bumrah alongside Prasidh Krishna also made it to the team after recently recovering from injury. The selectors have also included youngster Tilak Varma as a surprise pick in the squad.

Meanwhile, Salman Butt said that India have started to look like a different team altogether with the return of key players and added that the teams will find it hard to beat the Men In Blue in the continental tournament.

“India look like a different team now. They were high on experimenting, but that element seems to have gone away now. The playing XI is very predictable now based on this squad. India will be tough in these conditions,” Butt added.

Asia Cup 2023 is set to be played in the One Day International (ODI) format this time around. The continental tournament will commence on Wednesday, August 30, and the summit clash will be held on Sunday, September 17.
