Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal shared a cryptic post on X after he was dropped from the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023. He posted emojis, which suggested that the sun will be out again.

India???s squad for the Asia Cup 2023 was announced on Monday (21st August) as BCCI named a 17-member team for the tournament. Yuzvendra Chahal was one of the notable names that didn???t make it into the team as the management preferred Axar Patel over him due to his batting prowess.

Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the regular features for India in the white-ball cricket. The leg-spinner has been a terrific bowler for the team in the middle order and it was expected that he would be one of the names that would be on flight to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023.

This, however, is a clear indication that Yuzvendra Chahal might miss out on the squad for the ICC World Cup as well. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar mentioned that they will pick the team for the tournament from the 17 players that they have named for the Asia Cup 2023.

Yuzvendra Chahal after his exclusion indicated that ???Sun Will Rise Again Tomorrow???, which earlier captain Rohit Sharma had posted after being dropped from the Indian team for the Test series against England in 2018.

Asia Cup 2023: Yuzvendra Chahal was discussed, but sometimes it is the balance of the side ??? Ajit Agarkar

BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar was asked about the exclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal from the squad during a press conference. He said that they discussed about that but the balance of the team didn???t allow them to take two wrist spinners. He elaborated:

???Chahal was discussed, but sometimes it is the balance of the side we had to look at. Kuldeep has been really good, Axar has done well, but to fit two wrist spinners was difficult, so Chahal had to miss out.???

The Indian team will be heading to NCA in Bengaluru for the camp. The training will start on August 24th before flying to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup. They will open their campaign on 2nd September against Pakistan in Kandy.
