Ravishing Indian talent Yashasvi Jaiswal issues an ultimatum to the Indian selectors to pick him up for the Asia Cup 2025, promising that he can turn things up with his form and dominance in the shortest format of the game.

Indian youngsters have been showing some class apart from cricket in the IPL, as even the last IPL marked several new players who outshone even the greats of the game. One of the few names that often clicks in one's mind is that of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh.

With the team selections underway for the upcoming Asia Cup, every youngster is citing this as an opportunity to break into the Indian squad, while Sai Sudharsan remains the frontrunner if Gambhir's ideal of picking T20I players from the IPL is given priority.

Yashasvi Jaiswal wants to play in the Asia Cup 2025; urges Indian selectors to pick him up

Indian left-handed batting stalwart Yashasvi Jaiswal has shown some commanding form in international cricket ever since his arrival in the Indian team. He has played in the Test and T20I formats, while he is yet to make his ODI debut.

However, recently, Jaiswal was dropped from the last few tours in the shortest format as he was allowed to focus on the longest format of the game, settling as India's one-stop opening batter in the format.

However, recently, as per reports and some public statements issued by the star batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal is interested in featuring for India in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. India would also need its comparatively experienced players in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Recently, Rohit Juglan of RevSportz reported that Jaiswal said, ""mujhe le chlo..." mana jayega to kahani ghoom jayegi."

Yashasvi Jaiswal avoids Duleep Trophy participation

Yashasvi, India's permanent opening batter in Test cricket for the upcoming few years of international cricket, has been urged to focus on the red-ball formats, and the BCCI has asked him to be regular in the domestic games when he is not playing in any other international series.

Jaiswal, who represents Mumbai in the domestic tournaments, has been picked to star for the West Zone squad in the Duleep Trophy, which also includes several of his Mumbai teammates, including big names like Shreyas Iyer and Sarfaraz Khan.

However, it has been reported by Abhishek Tripathi recently that Yashasvi Jaiswal is not willing to be part of the Duleep Trophy and is looking forward to playing the Asia Cup, while he has urged the Indian selectors for a spot.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's IPL stats

Having played just 67 games in the IPL, Yashasvi Jaiswal, the 23-year-old, is known to be much ahead of his peers while also scoring 2 big hundreds in the competition.

Jaiswal's authoritative years in the IPL started from 2023 when Rajasthan Royals kept faith in him over the last two seasons, giving him some exposure to the game as well as the format. The season marked Jaiswal's scoring 625 runs, averaging almost 48.08, and scoring his maiden hundred as well.

The youngest international T20 centurion for India, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has scored 559 runs at an average of 43.00 in this year's IPL in 2025. He scored these many runs and also added 6 crucial half-centuries despite not much help from the other RR teammates. It seems that if anybody deserves a fair chance in the format for the Asia Cup 2025, it's Jaiswal.
