Asia Cup 2025: India vs Pakistan game to be held in empty stadium? ECB breaks silence on low ticket sales

The Emirates Cricket Board has dismissed reports claiming difficulty in the sale of India vs Pakistan match tickets for the Asia Cup 2025, as they have rather claimed that premium platinum tickets were sold within no time after their release online, proclaiming the anticipation and crowd support for the Sunday encounter.
India's match against Pakistan will be played on the 14th of September, Sunday, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India dominated the UAE at this very venue and is looking forward to the highly anticipated contest. India will play against Pakistan for the first time since the Champions Trophy earlier this year.
ECB refutes the struggle in selling tickets for the Asia Cup 2025 Indo-Pak match
Several claims were made over the difficulty in the sale of India vs Pakistan Asia Cup matches, as people were reported to be possibly boycotting the fixture in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attacks.
The Emirates Cricket Board has refused all such claims that they are struggling to sell tickets for the highly anticipated contest and have instead claimed otherwise.
"The signs are very encouraging. There is no truth to the claim that tickets are not getting sold," an ECB source told TimesofIndia.com.
3000 premium tickets were sold in no time through the online channel
The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has clearly stated that they have released a huge number of tickets in the premium category. They have released 3000 platinum tickets while claiming that all of them were sold out within just a few minutes.
"On Wednesday night, we put out 3,000 tickets through the online channel — the Platinum List — and they were all sold out within a couple of minutes. It clearly shows that there is strong interest among fans," the source added.
Captain's conversation between India and Pakistan skippers ahead of Asia Cup 2025 hinted towards 'Aggression'
As per reports from the Times of India, the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan's Salman Ali Agha have had a cordial chat before and after the press conference attended by all the team captains for the Asia Cup 2025.
"Both of them were pretty chilled. They had a nice chat. There were no signs of animosity between the two captains," the source said.
However, both these captains at the press conference hinted towards the flames between the players from the two teams on the 14th of September.
"Temper? Aggression is always there when we take the field," Suryakumar said. "And without aggression, I don't think you can play this sport. I'm very excited to take the field."
Pakistan captain Salman Agha also agreed with Surya, saying: "You don't need to say anything to any player. Everyone is different individually."
