Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited is among the three giants eyeing the title sponsorship of the India National Cricket Team after the exit of the fantasy gaming platform Dream11.
This latest development confirms that the Suryakumar Yadav-led India National Cricket Team will not be without a lead jersey sponsor in the Asia Cup 2025.
Dream11 pulls out of the deal with BCCI
The Indian government recently passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which bans all forms of online money games, including fantasy sports platforms such as Dream11, My11 Circle, and MPL.
The new law was passed in both houses of Parliament and received presidential assent in August 2025. This new bill prohibits users from participating in any online games where money is deposited with the expectation of potential winnings, and any platforms violating these rules could face severe penalties, including up to three years in jail and fines up to ₹1 crore.
As this law was introduced, the real-money gaming platforms like Dream11 have been forced to shut down their paid contests, and Dream Sports is now focusing on other business ideas.
Dream11, which was valued at approximately $8 billion USD, has also backed out as the title sponsor of the India National Cricket Team. Notably, Dream11 had a ₹358-crore, three-year jersey sponsorship deal with the Indian team, which consisted of Rs 3 crore per home match and Rs 1 crore per away game.
Asia Cup 2025: Jio and Two Giants Rush to Save Team India After Dream11 Walks Out Before Asia Cup
There were concerns about Team India being without a jersey sponsor in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, but it looks like three companies won't let that happen.
According to the latest report in NDTV, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Toyota Motor Corporation, and a Fintech start-up have shown interest in becoming the title sponsor of the India National Cricket Team.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking to get more money in their new title sponsorship deal than they received from Dream11, and the tendering process has not yet started. In case there is a delay in the process, there is a possibility of the Men In Blue playing the Asia Cup tournament without a lead sponsor.
Also, the same report claimed that the jerseys of the India National Cricket Team players were prepared in advance with the Dream11 logos, but that will no longer be used.

India squad for Asia Cup 2025 announced
On Tuesday, August 19, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-man India squad for the Asia Cup 2025.
Star batter Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team in the continental tournament, and Shubman Gill has been named as his deputy. The biggest talking point coming out of the squad announcement was the non-selection of the star batsman Shreyas Iyer.
Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer set the stage on fire in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with his explosive knocks, and before that, he was highly impressive in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, but the selectors didn't even pick him in reserves.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Prasidh Krishna, Riyan Parag, and Washington Sundar have been picked as the standbys for the Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in the T20 format from September 9 to 28.
