Pakistan, led by Salman Ali Agha, secured their first points in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four stage with a five-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, September 23. Following the result, three teams, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, are in contention for a spot in the final of the eight-team tournament.

Sri Lanka suffered their second straight loss in the Asia Cup Super Fours, leaving their path to the final extremely challenging. With only one Super Four match remaining, the Lankan Lions will now rely on other results to secure a place in the final. Notably, they remain mathematically in contention for the final.

How India Can Secure a Spot in the Asia Cup 2025 Final?

India have been dominant in the Asia Cup 2025, winning all their matches with commanding performances from both bat and ball. They are one of the toughest teams to beat in the Super Four stage.

With two games remaining, India have the advantage due to their net run rate (NRR). The Men in Blue will take on Bangladesh in their next match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, September 23. A victory over Bangladesh would all but secure their spot in the final.

Even if India loses against Bangladesh, they would not be eliminated. They can still reach the summit clash with a win against Sri Lanka in their final Super Four stage match, thanks to their superior net run rate.

How Pakistan Can Secure a Spot in the Asia Cup 2025 Final?

Pakistan have boosted their chances to reach the Cup final after victory over Sri Lanka. Their path to the final now depends on the results of upcoming matches. If India defeats Bangladesh, the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh could become a virtual semi-final.

However, if Bangladesh beats India, Pakistan will need to overcome Bangladesh and then wait for the outcome of the match between India and Sri Lanka to keep their hopes alive.

If Sri Lanka defeats India in their final Super Four game, Pakistan would qualify directly for the final. But if India wins, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh could all finish with four points, and the two teams with the best net run rate will advance to the summit clash.

How Bangladesh Can Secure a Spot in the Asia Cup 2025 Final?

Bangladesh is in a tricky position in the Cup. They will be playing two matches within 24 hours against India and Pakistan. A win against India would boost their chances of reaching the final, but qualification is not guaranteed due to their poor net run rate.

Bangladesh needs a comprehensive victory over India. If they fail to beat India, they would face a must-win clash against Pakistan to stay in contention.

Bangladesh could also qualify if India loses their next two matches. In a scenario where India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh all finish with four points, the two teams with the best net run rate would advance to the final.
