Asia Cup schedule changed once again as India vs Pakistan will now take place on this date

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has unveiled the updated schedule for the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, set to be held in Sri Lanka from July 19 to July 28. Defending champions India will start their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup in Dambulla on July 19.
The previous edition of the Women's Asia Cup was held in Bangladesh in 2022. India secured their seventh title with an eight-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the final match. The tournament, initially planned for 2020, was rescheduled to 2021 and eventually took place in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Women’s Asia Cup 2024 will feature eight teams for the first time. A total of seven teams featured in the last edition of the Asia Cup. India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Nepal, and the UAE. The other group includes Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals of the continental tournament. The two semifinal matches will be played on July 26. The summit clash of the upcoming tournament will be played on July 28.
Asian Cricket Council Unveils Updated Women’s Asia Cup 2024 Schedule
Nepal will face the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the afternoon on July 19, and India will play against Pakistan in the evening. These matches were originally planned for July 21. Nepal was set to face Pakistan in the opener and India versus the UAE in the second match. The remaining schedule remains unchanged.

The Women in Blue will aim to extend their dominance and secure an eighth title. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team secured a 3-0 ODI series win against South Africa at home. They are now preparing for a one-off Test match against the same opponent at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium later this week.
India displayed dominance both with bat and ball across the three-match series against South Africa. Smriti Mandhana set a new record for the most runs by a batter in a three-match ODI series in women’s cricket history. The left-handed batter amassed an impressive total of 342 runs against the Proteas.
