Stuart Broad has posted a heartfelt message ahead of his final day in Test cricket. The England great will bring down curtains on his illustrious Test career after the conclusion of the ongoing fifth and final Ashes Test against Australia at The Oval.
After the third day’s play, Stuart Broad had surprised the cricketing world by announcing his retirement from the game. The 37-year-old announced the news while speaking to commentators right after the day’s play. Stuart Broad has been a key member of the England Test team since making his debut against Sri Lanka way back in 2007.
Even in his last Test series, he is giving the younger bowlers a run for their money and is currently the leading wicket-taker for England in the series. Stuart Broad, who reached the 600 Test wickets mark earlier in the series, would need 4 wickets on the final day to become the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing Ashes.
“It’s been a wonderful ride, a huge privilege to wear the Nottinghamshire and England badge as much as I have.
“I’m loving cricket as much as I ever have, it’s been a wonderful series to be a part of and I’ve always wanted to finish at the top. This series feels like it has been the most wonderful and entertaining to be a part of,” Stuart Broad said while announcing his retirement.
And ahead of his last day in Test cricket, the England star took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message as he wrote: “I’ve always played with the attitude of leaving everything on the pitch. Today, I get to do that for one final time. It’s been an honour & a pleasure “

One last time for Stuart Broad:
England will be hoping that Stuart Broad inspire them to a win one last time. The hosts will begin the day on the backfoot after Australia’s solid start with the bat.
While England did well to set Australia a big target of 384 runs, the visitors have replied strongly with the bat. At stumps on day four, Australia were on 135 for no loss.
