Moeen Ali’s Injury Not Looking Good: Harry Brook
“He’s not looking too good at the minute, hopefully, he can come and bowl some overs for us. He’s been a vital player for us, he’s a top player, hopefully, he gets better soon,” Brook said to BBC.
The England all-rounder came out of his retirement to make a comeback into Test cricket after Jack Leach was ruled out of the Ashes series with a stress fracture. Brook said that he told Ali to play his shots and counter-attack the opposition while the two were batting together.
“He’s one of the best power hitters in the world so there’s not many better men to have out there if you want him to go and smack it. The way he went about it after his injury was perfect. We could have easily got [some singles], because they started to put everybody back as soon as he played a few big shots, but he was in a lot of pain so there weren’t going to be many twos,” Brook responded to a question from The Guardian.
Brook himself scored 85 off 91 balls and was the top-scorer in the England innings. Ben Duckett (41), Chris Woakes (36), and Mark Wood (28) also contributed to the score. Speaking about Brook, former England skipper Michael Vaughan said that he reminded him of Kevin Pietersen.

Harry Brook Up There With Kevin Pietersen: Michael Vaughan
“Harry Brook is right up there, Kevin Pietersen was the best. In the era I played, Pietersen dealt with them. I’m looking at Harry Brook in a similar way, he deals with them really well. He’s a great guy to have in the dressing room,” Vaughan said about Brook.
Australia currently leads the series 2-1 and have retained the Ashes series. They are looking for a 3-1 victory while England are looking to win the Test and draw the series.
