Stuart Broad got to 600 Test wickets in the Manchester Test match. He dismissed Travis Head, getting him caught to Joe Root to complete his milestone.

Rain marred the fourth day’s play as England were able to take just one more wicket in the day’s play. Lunch on day 5 has been taken early due to continuous rain in Manchester. Weather conditions on day 4 and 5 were predicted not to be good and it has turned out the same way. England are 2-1 down in the series and if this Test match ends in a draw, England can at best draw the Ashes series at home.

In his column for the Daily Mail, Stuart Broad spoke about getting to 600 Test wickets and joining an elite club of bowlers. He became the second England bowler after James Anderson to get to 600 Test wickets.

“When the ball was in the air travelling to Joe Root at fine leg from Travis Head’s bat, not for one millisecond did I think of it being my 600th Test wicket. It’s a really special club to join, and not one I thought was attainable this year at the start of 2023,” said Stuart Broad in his column.

He further said that he does not play for milestones and is only looking forward to winning the fourth Test match as it would mean more to him than his personal milestone.

“I’m not a numbers man and I don’t play for milestones but when they do come, they’re special, and what would make this one more special would be winning the Test,” added Broad.

We Need A Bit Of Luck From Manchester Weather: Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad concluded by speaking about the weather in Manchester needing to favor the home side to come back in the Test match and possibly win it on day 5.

“We probably had the most perfect first three days we could have wished for at the start, put in a pretty incredible performance to get eight wickets on day one, then played outrageously to get so far ahead of the game on day two. Now, we just need a bit of luck from the Manchester weather gods” Broad concluded saying.

Australia still trail by 61 runs as Lunch has been taken on day 5 in Manchester.
