James Anderson is back in the England Test XI at his home ground in Manchester for the fourth Ashes Test. The test match will be played from July 19-23 and the veteran pacer will be willing to make a mark.
Anderson was rested from the third Test match in Headingley. The 40-year-old has not been at his best, picking just three wickets and conceding over 200 runs in the series so far.
England recalled the veteran in place of Ollie Robinson who is rested for this Test. Anderson will be bowling alongside Stuart Broad looking to dismiss the Aussies batters quickly.
Meanwhile, former England batter Ian Bell said that the veteran pacer has nothing to prove to anyone and has a burning desire to perform at his home ground.
“He’s got nothing to prove to anyone, he’s shown what he can do time and time again. There are endless words you can use to describe him, everyone of course talks about his skill level but his longevity as well and bowling through the pain down the years,” Bell told Daily Star.
“He has just been incredible, in this series we haven’t seen the best of him, the first two games had wickets that weren’t helpful to any bowler in that side but knowing Jimmy he would’ve been burning seeing the win at Headingley” he further added.

James Anderson Is A Proper Champion: Ian Bell
The former England batter Ian Bell further backed James Anderson to put in a big performance in Manchester which is his home ground.
“He is a proper champion and a competitor so I’d imagine that will be burning inside him to make an impact and it’s at his home ground – and he’s said himself it might be his last Test match at Old Trafford. When you talk about the greats like Jimmy, they find a way of writing their own scripts so don’t be surprised if he puts in a big performance this week” Bell concluded saying.
England are trailing in the series 2-1 and need to win the 4th Test match to keep the series alive.
